Probably what it was, was a money laundering/tax avoidance-evasion scheme to wash money either legally or illegally. Because otherwise what did they spend the money on?

I liked A1, I thought the racing was good, the national concept was different. Too bad it had to fold.

Well, they didn't spend it on things they should have spent it on, that's for sure. While they did hold lavish parties every raceweekend, they forgot to pay their main transport partner, for instance, or some of their suppliers. How that ended up at being more than 400 million pounds is beyond me though.
