CAMS to reduce costs to grass roots
compliments of Racenews: see link to Racenews article
Cams have decided to keep costs down for grass roots competitors, Gee, I wonder where they got that idea from. |

Disgruntled members maybe?
Any bean counters in here who can put this into perspective (like growth in fees over, say, last 5 years and comparitive fees to, say, 5, 10 years ago? |

Deadly - where are most of AASA's officlas and competitors coming from? I believe you will find nearly everyone one of them are disgruntled CAMS officials and competitors who CAMS have, in one way or another, royally screwed.
For example - why is AMRS moving to AASA next year? |

I can't argue with any of that, but I do know of more than a few new ones (officials and competitors) that have been attracted by what AASA have to offer.

I won't dispute that there are new officials and copetitors - but you do have to ask yourself 'Wouod these same people have joined previously if there had only been CAMS'?
I suspect the answer would be that CAMS has not only driven a lot of people out of the sport, it has also kept people out because of the boys clubs that seem to abound within CAMS. |

Many of these people may also be atracted to CAMS events down south if they are looked after and encouraged by both sides. I know the AASA side doesn't mind which backyard we marshals play in so hopefully the other mob will see sense soon and not quietly discourage it's more senior people to stay away from certain events at certain tracks which has a flow on effect to lower level marshals as well. |

Ok, can someone (storyline) tell me what the difference in these three meetings is, and if there is not much difference why the huge cost on the State Champs
State Championship R5A 9,900.00 Multi-Club R6A 3,746.00 Club R7A 1,874.00 I Can probably answer my own question on the State Champs bit. I am looking at it from a competitors point of view. If you have 220 competiors at a multi club the permit is $16 ea, State champs is $45 ea. Over 6 meeting in the year i would save $174, which doesnt seem like much, but for those of us who race it is heaps. That would pay for me to actually test the car for a day. Out of the 220 competitors there is probably only 20 or so who have a realistic chance of becoming the state champion, probably 50 who think they can, but will never realy get there and the rest of us who just want to race their car.It seems to me that CAM$ are pandering to 20 or so people and couldnt give a stuff about anyone else. |

Or why it is that as a club, to be able to accept entries from other clubs makes the permit fee double? especially as the paperwork and support provided (none) by cams is the same between the two levels.
