renaultbel should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What your talking about?

Guys what you're talking about? According to rules if the front tire of the opponent's car reaches the middle section of your car you'll have to let him by. In an another way if your front tire didn't reach the middle section of your opponent's car you have no right to overtake.

JPM 's car was totally behind the Ferrari, so he had no right to continue pressing, even though MS was overtaking him on the outside.

Surely JPM has the right to defend his position. And he did it very well too. Nobody is saying JPM was right in overshooting the corner. That was clearly a mistake. Hadn't he overshot, there would have been no way Schumacher could've overtaken at that exact spot since JPM got the inside line.

point taken renaultbel..but i do think you are missing the point...I dont know what others are saying about it as i havent read the posts as yet ..but this rule surely has no baring when the car trying to overtake is on the outside.

Montoya had every right to defend his position ..it was michaels job to get past him ..okay I think we can all agree that JPM made a driver error but he admitted that ..locking your brakes is simply a driver error..he tried to defend and it didnt work a simple racing incident...the rule (which i havent seen either) that if his wheel is up beside your cockpit is fine if the passing car is on the inside but if its on the outside then there can be no way that this rule works...if it is true..then a driver can just simply brake a little later and pull up beside someone ..even be a little bit in front and expect to be let through.....i dont think so.

no move should be that easy.
