Peterborough Street Circuit

As requested here is the street circuit that I created in my home city of Peterborough. Unfortunatly I have lost the overlay over a photo of the area but I still have the track plan. As you can See it would be completly unrealistic as the main straight is around 1.9 miles long (though I have put in a chicane that can be used). This section is along a major 'A' road through the city & so is wide enough for some good racing. The curved section after this has several chicanes. These are roundabouts in real life & would be a bit like the 2nd chicane at Surfers' Paradise, just slightly wider & with more camber. The twistiest sections in the North East of the image are quite narrow & have a concrete surface. They are also in a residential area but would still be interesting to race on. The 2 final corners before the long straight look slow. This is only due to the scale. the would in fact be fast, especially the 2nd last corner as this has a lot of camber & is quite wide. The last corner drops down a slip-road onto the highway on the exit & so speed would be built up very quickly. The brown line on the image is the railway. Total length is a crazy 6.5 miles (I think! )

Twisty, the fast sections are easily the best, especially with bumpy british roads and whatnot.
Any traffic islands the drivers would have to (try) and avoid?

this is practically a suicide track. 6.5miles of street circuit? you would need to tear up the roads and replace them all again, except this time with no speed bumps, traffic islands or roundabouts.

This track is something for a 24 hour event, though most residents probably wouldn't like it. Then again, it's a fantasy track, and I like it when fantasy tracks get a little wild at times.
I think this track is rather demanding on the whole package. What about run-off areas? Are there any escape roads?

Runoff isn't that bad actually & there would be a lot of space at most corners. I have avoided completly all the roads with traffic calming except for one very short stretch wich would be easily remedied. All chicanes are roundabouts but fit into the circuit quite well. There is even quite a lot of elevation change on parts of the track. Most roads wuld need resurfacing though. Still-a fun track!

Not a fan of it on paper mate, sorry, but would be interesting to see an aerial image.

The track is probably too long for an acceptable street circuit. However, if you cut off the left part of it, just before or just after the railroad cross-over, it's doable. And a nice track at that. Pits straight could be Soke Parkway.

Wacky, unrealistic, and brilliant. It's like a track you'd have on a game. The left hander at the end of the long back straight looks fantastic, coupled with the inevitable bumps you'd get on a street circuit, especially in Britain

That would be ok but in my mind the western section of the circuit would be the most spectacular with the very fast left hander & then aall the fast cambered chicanes around the western loop. Soke Parkway would give space for the pit lane itself but not for any pit building or paddock space. The original area was chosen coz it is right next to an industrial estate, part of which is a Renault dealership which would give space for pits & paddock. I accept though that it would be too long but it was never thought of as being a genuine circuit. It's still fun to drive round though!
