Are the signs there?
With all the controversy over illegal cars/ illegal acts and AVESCO seemingly playing circuits off against each other, are these signs of cracks appearing.
Today, despite not usually buying AA i did and read Foges column and for the first time in the long time i read a article in AA that made sense and to top it off, was well written. It bothers me that teams at the moment are seemingly at least being careless or trying to push the regulation limits. The teams are shareholders in TEGA/AVESCO so why are they doing this when it would not be in their best interests to destabilise the organization. AVESCO with their weak rules and regulations are not doing themselves any favours either, but at least they have CAMS there to lay the blame on. The other thing that worries me is TC himself. He in my opinion should shut his mouth in public as everytime he does he makes a fool of himself. Take note of the controversy over a street circuit in NZ and his playing off Winton against Philip Island, plus the circuit licencing stand off early in the year. That together with the Surfers reclaiming of some of a park and it's not hard to see that he is losing friends at an alarming rate. I might be wrong but i see big cracks appearing and V8 Supercars could be in danger. |

Yeah it seems likes it heading into some form of, i hate to say it, dictatorship with AVESCO/TEGA attempting to exert tremendous of power against others, including teams (JFA Pty Ltd case), cicuits (Winton & Phillip Island) and administration departments (CAMS).
I think you're right pete55, cracks are begining to appear in what looks like a peaceful world of tranquility, however one gets the feelings there is some nervous ones amongst the entire ranks of V8Supercar. |

Sorry guys, nobody put a gun to the heads of the team owners who signed up to purchase a franchise.
If you dont like the game, get out.... |

I heard Craig Gore say recently that V8Supercars was a business first, sport second - and I think he is right. That's certainly the level it is at now compared with even 10-15 years ago where I'm sure most of the guys had full time jobs and went racing for fun ( as with most other sportsmen ) The problem is, TC now has his boardroom full of, not weekend warriors, but multimillionaire businessman who want a say where and how their millions are being spent/used/exposed/advertised/maximised, and they need quantifiable results to justify the expenses. TC can't keep up with that. He is a promoter who is trying to tell corporate Australia what they can and can't do.....sorry TC, you're in over your head.....
