Yeh, the award for luckiest man today goes to Richard Burns though! Of course, it's luck like that you need to win championships.
Who else didn't dare touch the forum until after Channel 4 people! :bandhead: |

Sebastian Loeb won the inugural FIA Super 1600 Cup last year (Now called the FIA Junior World Rally Championship) in a Citroen Saxo VTS and is tipped for great things in the future. In San Remo last year, he finished second in only his first outing in the Citroen Xsara WRC and this year he is lined up to compete in 7 WRC events in the Citroen. Hope that answers your question.

Loeb really surprised me. 18 seconds ahead of Pannizi to win stage 4 and 17 seconds ahead in stage 5. Most definitely, that gent is heading for great things in the world of rallying. He may even pull off a victory here in Monte Carlo. That'd be something...
Still, I'm pulling for Colin. |

Why oh why isn't Loeb lined up to do all WRC events... He could be fighting for the championship if he's this good!
I saw the onboard camera shots of Richard Burns' incident. If I hadn't known in advance that he would escape that one, I would definitely have thought it would have been a rally-ending incident for sure! Very very lucky, I must say. |

Richard Burns was lucky not to roll the car. just as well he was taking it easy
It seems that he will do well to treat this event as an elogated test session and go for points. It does look like Loeb could win at this rate, look what happened when an unknown Gilles Panizzi entered |

I've got to admit I actually thought Burns was rolling over from the incar view but cleaning the windscreen he was back onto a side road and onto the stage again. I couldn't stop laughing at the luck to have landed in that spot so easy to get back on the stage. A few metres off the road further down or further back and that road wouldn't have been there. Extremely lucky to get back on th estage never mind rolling the car.

Loeb isn't on all WRC rounds because Citroen aren't entered in all WRC rounds.
