Garth Tander

Is it just me or does Garth Tanders attitude rub anyone else the wrong way???

I always find it amusing the way that Tander and GRM always blame everyone else around them when they are involved in an incedent.

The other amusing thing was Tander calling Steve Johnson a whinger, now that is the pot calling the kettle black

I think in that situation GT was in the right, it was Johnson that approached Tander in the pit lane & what was he supposed to do. I still believe that Tander was unfairly penalised for an incident that was clearly not his fault.

Tander's comments about Steve being like his father was a bit premature. I wouldn't describe Steve as a great Aussie Legend just yet. And what has Garth's father done that is so special that gives his son the right to attack Dick when he had nothing to do with the situation?

Um you did understand that Tander was referring to Johnson's ability to winge a lot (that's not me agreeing with Tanders opinion of either Johnson)

If you mean driving record - Tanders isn't that bad - both have had their fair share of 'incidents' but Dick takes the points on whinging - maybe he is training Jnr as well...

I would guess that there is some resentment among some drivers that Steven Johnson has a drive at all - maybe a feeling that he would not be there at all if it were not for the fact that he was DJ's son. Any little incident and that underlying resentment can boil over a bit.

It was quite cruel, but I also recall hearing Steven referred to as 'fatty Johnson' in pit lane now and then - the implication being that he was, literally, unfit to drive.

Other than Steve's debut full-time year, he has beaten his team-mate in the points everytime.

You don't win a GMC 400 and QLD 500 if your **** you know........

IMO "the" incident was 98% Tander's fault and 2% Jones' fault.

Steve was probably also very pi$$ed off losing what may have been a good race finally for him. Tander copped it, maybe it was deserved, maybe not.

Still, it makes good TV.

There were 5 or 6 cars involved in that inncident from many, many angles, it was wrong of both the stewards and Junior to point the finger square at Garth. That still doesnt justify Garth comments either...

It's funny - but the impression I got from Garry Rogers was that maybe, just maybe, he is considering his future in V8's....don't know why I get the feeling - but wouldn't be surprised to see him leave and push the Monaro program more...

I thought Garth's comments were poor form.

At the end of the day, Garth is at fault as he ran into the back of Junior, regardless of what Jones did or did not do ahead of him.

Poor DJR, just when they show some car speed, both car end up crashed against each other!

I haven't seen Steve win as many races as Garth. Whether your a Ford or Holden supporter, Garth's results have been much better than Steve's, you only need to look at the 2000 championship. Steve has got the drive because of his Dad there is no denying that, and I believe that Steve obviously isn't a great development driver whereis look at what Radisich did at DJR and now what he is doing at 888! Time to move on Steve but I as I haven't seen the incident I don't believe Garth should have bought Dick into it, but it does make good TV.

Garth is just a midfield runner. He was up and coming at one stage, but he's become too comfortable and hasn't done squat for a while. He also made the comment at Bathurst last year about Brock being back and how he hadn't noticed. The guy has no respect for the blokes who built the sport and needs a nice hot cup of STFU.
