Well done to Danilo - good effort.
Impressed by the Raikkonen team too. And Josh Fisher's pole in the National Class is welcome also. |

Whatever Happened to Mr. Kimball? Only two laps and the slowest in Championship class?

I suspect he either went off, or had a car problem.

Second race times are on MST now - another P4 for Dan Clarke - I hope he can translate his good qualifying into good race results

So what are the confirmed times for the 2 races then?
Is the first still at that daft earlier time? |

That is indeed correct. Sensible, really - clears the peak viewing times for the more entertaining and crowd-pleasing races. Very nice day at Donington today, Ginettas, Caterhams and even the thin grid of Formula Fords were all superb.

it's going to be a couple of great races by the looks of things, so long as it doesn't rain (or if it does, it needs to rain about 15 minutes before). it's all very close
ian, i fail to see why you started a topic just so you can handbag the subject of it. |

It depends what you're looking for in an "entertaining" race.
My attention is more likely to be held by an F3 race than it is by Ginettii or Caterhams |

Worth noting that if you can't be there tomorrow, you should be able to listen online (apparently): http://www.embassyracing.com/News/Ne...5RaceRadio.htm
So if you've always wanted to listen to David Addison, Chris Hartley and Ian Titchmarsh from the comfort of your own desk - and let's face it, someone must - now you can... |

Bruno achieved 5th!
I'm surprised that no one praises Bruno Senna for his 5th qualifying place in his first try at British F3...
Congrats Bruno! Last edited by Mekola; 3 Apr 2005 at 02:06. |

Dirani was very good, and Conway and Clarke looked strong as well. Senna was less impressive, but he has a lot less experience than much of the rest of the grid.

Well, firstly it was nice to be back!
Dirani was mighty impressive over the weekend, he looked calm, assured and seemed to have an extra gear there every time he needed it...top showing! Conway was quick, Clarke surprised and also managed to finish both races which he should be congratulated on! People get on his back when he's playing with the tyre barriers so he must be congratulated on an excellent opening weekend. Senna has speed, and lots of it but his racecraft is just not upto it. Its really frustrating as he's clearly a very talented kid but he just gets himself involved in to many silly shunts..it was the same last season in BMW. He had a run in with Steve Jelley in the first race which he was lucky to survive and then in the second went off trying to hard to go around the outside of Susie at the Old Hairpin. Josh Fisher showed well in the National Class but it was some shunt Jonathan Kennard had in the second race, his car was a real mess. Thought Ryan Lewis looked quick in race trim and made a lot of passes in both races but his qualifying let him down slightly...could be one to watch though. Tim Bridgman disappointed me the most..I expected much more from him considering the debuts of the other rookies such as Senna, Conway and Clarke. All in all a good weekend, just gutted I can't make Spa for the next round! |
