RLL will no doubt continue their relationship with BMW and race the Z4 in the US for them.

Press release from BMW says RLL will be the ALMS team.
Now I can't find the press release ... so i could be wrong. Doesn't specify RLL Last edited by Maelochs; 3 Dec 2012 at 02:42. |

Very, Very curious, considering the uncertainty about the rules that will follow the upcoming Grandam/ALMS merger. hope they keep GTE, ALMS really shows the strength of that class..

If BMW were as uncertain about those things as we are, then yes, it'd be a very curious decision. But ofcourse there's a good chance that BMW knows a lot more about the way different series and rulesets will be developing than we do!

Saw that. However, I aspire to a higher level of accuracy and credibility than ALMS.

Why not the Radical Power 3L V8? It chucks out 500hp so would be good for the Evora....
On topic, BMW could always just twin turbo the I6. |

It'd probably be less expensive to make a run of V8 powered Z4 roadcars.
They make a limited edition run say of 500 cars and every one of them would be sold rather quick regardless of price. Its a shame they havent done this yet. |

That's what I'm saying... The rules are written so that the production turbos must be used and that is why no one runs FI. If the rulesmakers are going to be forward thinking, this needs to be revised to be more inclusive of FI.

An interesting defense on why the ALMS accepted the Z4 GTE even with the V8. |

Basically saying there won't be a V8 Z4 on the street, at least not for racing it.

It is a real shame that they chose not to run the I6 TT. I'd far prefer that be BoP'd into being competitive over this solution. Last edited by Fogelhund; 5 Dec 2012 at 02:57. |
