I went to one of the Trans-Am street races in Des Moines. Never had been there before. Unique city. All the restaurants downtown on Court Street try to outdo each other and serve the best pork chops. Beautiful baseball stadium for the AAA farm team for the Cubs. Lot of money in the town....has the most insurance companies based there other than Hartford, Conn., in the nation. Think fans will enjoy a different deal there.

"Richmond on Steroids"

I like the sound of that description...

Another short oval that I would like to see the IRL try or at least test the feasibility:

Memphis Motorsports Park

As I'm from Iowa that's pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to going to the race next year too.

Sorry, but I have to submit this little "Joke":

Iowa is well-known for farming, John-Deere Company and the heavy-metal-band slipknot.

So, what is going to happen on Iowa speedway? The John-Deere 500, and the hymn performed by slipknot?

Oh dear (or shall I say: Oh deere)...

But I bet, above mentioned things won't happen...

I'm hearing rumors of a super-modified tire test there as well. It's possible we could see a Copper World Classic type event in the future.
