BMW have announced their driver line up for this years ALMS series.
while JJ Lehto and Jorg Muller have already been confirmed to lead the team the second car will be partnered by Fredrik Ekblom and another Muller ..Dirk (No relation I believe)..they will drive M3's in the GT class after BMW pulled out of the prototype class to concentrate their efforts on F1 with the Williams team. Dirk Muller won the 1998 Porsche Carrera cup and also won the 2000 GT class honours in the ALMS for Dick Barbour racing. while Ekblom won the 1998 swedish tourind car title and has alot of experience in the US including Indycars. Gehard Berger believes the team is top notch and has the potential to make the M3 a class leader. they will do the full ALMS series but will not compete at Le Man. |
