Why would you want a three day Grandstand pass?
To watch the Friday truck parkup? |

The Phillip Island 300 in November
So they are now going back to Phillip Island in November to replace the Bahrain round, due to it being part of the opening rounds next year.
Who here can think of a better track to go to? Remembering this is a one off... and we've not long been to Phillip Bloody Island? Call me old fashioned, but for a one off, I'd prefer:
Thoughts? |

Spot on - maybe the shorter distance is to compensate the teams for the lack of duty free bargains on the way to Bahrain?
No mention of support categories yet Stigette - will be interesting to see if the rumours are true about a lack of those activities. Actually, I think that its a shame that they are sticking with pretty much the same format as a few of the other rounds - would have been a good opportunity to try something a bit different, although a 20 min qual on Saturday will sort out the men from the boys. |

Well, going off your list:
Lakeside - not up to it any more for this level - pit lane not even big enough to fit the field into - shame but there it is. Wakefield - be interesting seeing them around there. Oran Park - had thought of it too if it is still available but probably too close (time and distance) to Homebush - this might impact on choosing Wakefield too. Mallala - similar problem to Lakeside Calder - no cams track licence, poor relationship and can't ever see them going there while Bob still runs it. Eastern Creek - nah, same problem as Oran Park Phillip Island is OK but the racing there can be a bit ordinary - maybe it was simply a case of going with what was available? |

Can someone please tell me why the Sheikhs of Speed at Bahrain would give VESA bucket loads of money to bring the circus to Bahrain even when they aren't going????

Baskerville in Tassy. Taupo circuit in NZ. Surely teams would have budgeted for this. |

It makes logical sense... if it costs $X to airfreight the cars, teams and officials, to get the cars to the track, to operate the track for the race period and all the other operating costs... they effectively save that outlay by not running this year...

He (TC) said the idea was mooted a year ago, and that V8s will receive its fee from Bahrain for the event in November this year, even though it will not go ahead, and again for the February event. What "fee" is that exactly? And why are they still paying it? |

As I wondered earlier... is Mr Whitaker of BIC still in line for the VESA CEO gig? |
