Not only would I like to see a few more road courses (Montreal and Road America to the Cup schedule now please and how about Circuit of the Americas and a street circuit for the hell of it?) but I'd also like to see them run multiple races over a weekend at certain tracks.

NASCAR Cup cars aren't ideal, so it doesn't really matter. Anyway, ...
One weekend per circuit, except Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte and Bristol. There's 23 tracks now, so it's 27 races so far. Then, add Montreal, Road America and Iowa. That's 30. Not one more. - o - Then, Nationwide and Truck races should be distributed so each oval has at least two Nascar weekends. Also, the free weekends should be coordinated with major Grand-Am races. |

So, for example:
o- The single Cup and Nationwide race at Phoenix is in November. Truck runs with IndyCar there in March. One race less. o- Cup has a free weekend before the All-Star Race, so the stars race at the V8 Supercars race at Austin. o- The Cup race at Sonoma replaces a repeated track in the Chase. The Cup joins Nationwide at Road America in June. o- Cup has a free weekend before the Daytona 400, so the stars race at the 6 Hours at the Glen. o- The Cup race at Pocono in August gets replaced by Iowa. o- The Cup race at Michigan in August gets replaced by Montreal. |

Put in Rockingham and Road America. Use them to replace some of the races to which there are two visits. Stick a roadcourse somewhere in the chase.
I'm unconvinced by Austin myself. |

I'd take this^ or Richmond, ORP, Bristol and Rockingham rinsed and repeated for the duration of the season. |

Shorter season. Maybe 30 races, at the most. Euro leg maybe 2 - 3 races. All teams ship a road racing spec car and all spares must fit in same container to ship via sea freight (that's how they got the cars to Japan). Rockingham (the UK one) and one or two others. One race at Martinsville, Michigan, Pocono, Kansas, Phoenix.
Kicker, the season starts and ends in Daytona. And as Fire said, shorter races. |

About shorter races, I'd do three heat races. Like, 40-50 mile qualifying races and a 300 mile final race in intermediate and superspeedways, and 25-30 mile qualifying races and a 200 mile final race in short tracks.

Shorter races, less races, no repeat races, no all star races, no Chase for the Cup of the thing, more road courses, more variety

A good NASCAR roadcourse is a sweeping course, with space to maneuver with inclines and dips. I don't think street tracks are compatible. Although I must admit I'd be curious to see them run somewhere like Cleveland airport! A Dirt round would be great.
I think retain most of the epics. As long as the cars are racey there isn't a problem. Some of those 80's and 90's races where real action-packed epics, and the hours flew by. I think there is something more fundamental with COT than tinkering with race distances will resolve. As for international races they could do a small tour if the price is right. Like Knockhill for example. |

Stealing and editing FordCosworth (sorry)

Mosport 18. Bathurst 19. Phillip Island 20. Surfers Paradise 21. Road America 22. Watkins Glen 23. Winchester 24. Bristol 25. Richmond 26. Atlanta 27. Laguna Seca 28. Richmond 29. Dover 30. Talladega 31. Rockingham 32. Toledo 33. Homestead 34. Salem 35. Martinsville 36. Daytona Many more road circuits and at least 2 in the chase. Less boring 1 1/2 mile tracks, kind of over the 1/2 mile bump-and-run tracks too. I've said it before but NASCAR on road tracks is the best motor sport going. They had much more of it in the 60s...why not now? I know the answer BTW |

I would tweak it to reduce some 1.5 mile tracks and Pocono to 1 race, and replace those with shorter tracks like Rockingham and North Wilksboro, and add another road course race, maybe Austin? While we are at it, why not stick a dirt track in there and make them race modifieds for one weekend at Eldora!

Watkins Glen
Laguna Seca Road America Virginia International Raceway Daytona road course Barber Motorsports Park Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Infineon Indianapolis road course Road Atlanta Circuit of the Americas Yes, I know this lacks ovals. I would enjoy it more this way. Also, obviously it's US-only here, as NASCAR is still mainly a local thing, and my international list would be huge. |

Maybe they could put 10 road courses and 16 ovals during the regular season. Then put 2 road courses and 8 ovals on the Chase.
Also, why not stage a race on Japan (Fuji Speedway, unless if Toyota added the oval course) and Australia (Bathurst) so that they could gain some fans there. |
