AGGY should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Doohan VS Schumacher

Both the best of their era,and Doohan`s style and approach reminds me of Schumachers..smooth but mentally aggressive.

The biggest disrespect Australia has shown to the master, was not naming him sportsperson of the year after he won his 5th World 500cc title,i won`t mention who the award went to.

Both Doohan and Schumacher appear totally focused on success.

500cc will never be the same without Doohan.

Aggy, I agree with you on all you have said about Mick.I was thinking a couple of weeks ago about posting a thread featuring these 2 wondering statistically who is the more succesful. Financially, the Schu would win hands down but as for the actual records......ie WDC's, Poles etcetc

Well - I have never met Michael Schumacher in a bottle shop. But after Phillip Island in 1997. The year Doohan fell off, while in a comanding lead. I went to the bottle shop in Cowes after the race (approx 6pm) when Mick walked in with his then girlfriend Selina and brought booze and signed shirts and address books.

Really, a good bloke.

Great year that trip to the island - it had it all.

I think statistically and mentally Doohan beats TGF hands down. And, I am a devout tifosi. Mick climbed back on a motorcycle, often while still in great pain. Schumi sat back with a broken leg and sipped on his wine while he collected a fat check from Lloyds of London.

No comparison between the two IMHO. A comparison between Niki Lauda and Mick Doohan might be more appropriate.
