HSCC - Classic Racing Cars
I am interested to know what the Forum thinks of this championship?
And any improvements / changes that could be made to it. This is expected to be a controversial thread. J |

HF3 has been trying to do that for a while, just encouraging the numbers to make it happen.
Ducans dream may yet happen |

I read in MOtorsport that FF 1600 and 2000 are splitting . . . . the latter to go with the Force organisation,
now I dont know about you but I wouldnt fancy tootling (relatively speaking) around in a FF with a load of monster death traps baring down on me ! than again I cant drive !!! |

I thought they were already seperated. FF2000 are run by URS in their own championship, or they can also do Formula 4. FF1600 has lots of championships depending where you live or what age car you have.

With the F3 I think the suggestion is that it still runs as part of the HSCC package that it has it's own championship rather than being lumped in with the Derek Bell Trophy.
It's all dependent on numbers. I know there's a nice 1975 ex Stephen South Ray due to appear out of the Grantham area for next year |

I think Motorsport said that Historic F2 is splitting, not Ff1600-2000. Bit of a shame as a full grid of F2s, perhaps with a 1600 and 2-litre class would be great.

I think it is a terrific championship, especially when there are full grids such as at Brands in July. Many of the cars are so nice, the lovely old Brabhams, Ian Jones' Lotus, Jenny's Tecno etc. Some great racing too this year, young Edwin Jowsey stirring things up.
Proper 'cigar' racing cars without those wing contraptions! |

Aren't the "Classic Racing Cars" those that run in the HSCC Historic Saloon Car Register?

mind you I think Zefarelly and I are up on the bank watching only on this one!! open wheeled cars are great to watch and I would love to take one out but close racing in open wheeled cars is too rich for my blood!

Here are some of the HSCC Classic Racing car competitors at Snetterton this year. Jowsey's F3 Brabham BT28 to the fore.

Can I suggest that on the HSCC website in addition to the (excellent and full) information on how to race through the HSCC you add full information for potential spectators to the meetings.
If I hear of a meeting and am thinking of going, I would like to know: Where? Obviously When? Date and start time What? Classes of cars and possible star turns How much? I hope this helps. Carry on the good work |
