GP2 Spa races
I'm looking forward to this immensely.
The grid's a bit mixed up thanks to the weather yesterday, the weather today is turning changeable - and even F3000 was always decent at Spa. Bring it on! |

It's not a fiasco - the safety car has been required (aside from the first one, maybe).
The racing between the safety car laps has been good though. |

The track has not been blocked, so there was no need for a red flag.
Anyway, racing again now. |

And Piquet wins from Viso.
Rosberg takes the championship lead - and Kovalianen blows it by spinning off on the last lap. |

carroll must have overtoo lauda at the bus stop on the last lap because he was still quite a way behind when it showed heikki spinning.
mad race though. i was at the edge of my seat throughout (except when the safety car was out, and that was almost half the race!) |

Should be a interesting race tommorow, and hopefully less safety car periods! Great win for Piquet, he deserved it IMO. A win for Carroll tommorow? Hes got a lot of what IMO are slower drivers directly behind him, if he can make a break in the first few laps or so it should be in the bag.

bruni like carroll, kovalainen and lopez stayed out during the safety cars but crashed on the second green flag lap. pantano was there but i noticed when carroll spun he had damage to his rear wing which was probably done by yoshimoto who had spun off at the same time. he pitted and was out of contention since.

What time starts the 2nd race tomorrow? Because I heard Eurosport covers that race here, they didn't this this afternoon.

Good race, when the safety car wasn't out. I could understand it for the two major crunches, but the other two incidents.....I mean, it's just ludicrous frankly.
Kovaleinen is just limping towards the end of the season, he has been mighty unimpressive for most of the second half of the season. I really can't understand him. Is he being too defensive and tentative under pressure? Or is Rosberg simply far too good? Whatever, Kovaleinen has changed over the season IMO. Quite what he was doing on the last lap today I don't know, 8th place should have been a formality considering who was in front. So Rosberg leads the standings. I'd never have thought it. I never rated Rosberg that highly in Euroseries and expected him to be much the same in GP2. Obviously, these high powered, low grip cars are a perfect tool for him to show his skill. Great stuff! I hope he goes on to win it. |

Piquet has been docked ten places on tomorrow's grid for shunting Premat.

That's what I was worried about, although I'm sure it wasn't deliberate. At least he kept the win. I'm feeling slightly smug as I had tipped him to win if the conditions were wet.
Who did Kovalainen hit so hard to cause the damage to the nose cone? |
