The two car team with the highest combined point score from both its Cars at the end of the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship will be determined the V8 Supercar Champion Team.

After two rounds of the series having already been completed, Stone Brothers Racing is leading the points table ahead of Super Cheap Auto Racing and the Holden Racing Team in third.

Interesting that Grouped teams are not classified as two car teams, when that's the logic used to Group them...

i really like the idea of a teams championship - will be interesting to see how it pans out. maybe they could also add a genuine constructors - it is afterall Ford versus Holden which everyone gets precious about once those other two manufacturers are mentioned - do it F1 style and work out a point score based on the top 10 finshing cars from both sides ( i havent looked but id assume there arent 16 fords and 16 holdens - or are there??) instead of this rubbish whichever driver wins the constructor wins as well - aint how it works in F1, so.....

At 34 car rounds I believe there are 16 Fords and 18 Holdens....at 32 car rounds 15 fords, 17 holdens.

ok i know you lot like numbers and facts and figures so ive thrown some meat on my idea - tell me what you think - good, needs work, wasting my time etc..
ive got an F1 style points system for the top 10 cars - winner is given premium points, other two podium spots enjoy an extra couple as well and then 1 point increments down to 10. if you ask me i think this style of system should be used for the drivers as well but hey, what do we fans know about the sport anyway right?

points allocated are:
P1 20 P2 14 P3 11 P4 8 P5 6 P6 5 P7 4 P8 3 P9 2 P10 1

and ive allocated on race wins rather than round wins - i only care who takes the chequred, not who trundled around in the top 10 and 'accumulated' for a position. based on that :

Adelaide Race 1 P1 F F F F H H H H F H Holden = 19 Ford = 55

Adelaide Race 2 P1 F F H H H H H H H H Holden = 40 Ford = 34

NZ Race 1 P1 H F H F F H F H H H Holden = 42 Ford = 32

NZ Race 2 P1 H F F H F H F H H F Holden = 38 Ford = 36

NZ Race 3 P1 H F H F H H F F H H Holden = 45 Ford = 29

Total thus far : Holden = 184 Ford = 186

Which for me pans out ok in that Ford have had 2 race wins to Holdens 3, however for total podium positions Ford have 9 to Holdens 6, so that sounds about evens anyway.
