Will Ford be able to ride out the storm we call AU Falcon, A car which quite possiblly is the ugliest car built and designed in Australia (Including the Leyland P76). What do you think

I actually rather liked the Leyland P76.
Especially the Force 7 Coupe. |

The AU is ugly? Oh.
I thought so too when it first came out, but the shape is aging very nicely. Oddly enough, this is the opposite of whats happening to the VT/X series Holdens... they looked great when first released, but now they are starting to look a bit dated. The dressed up ones look smart, but the base level models look like a misshapen hunk of half molten icecream. |

Welcome to the ball game R3d, and to be honest I couldn't agree more with you. The Au really has grown on me, but the older the VT gets, the more and more it looks like puffy VS

I wouldn't call the AU ugly. It was only ever the two base models (Forte and Futura), when first released, that looked really bad from the front and the back end just looked rather sad. The AU2 upgrade helped a little bit but it's not a pretty car. It would have looked better if the Focus and more of the Ka was in the showrooms at the same time because it wouldn't have been such a departure from the rest of the Ford range.

I don't mind them visually and think the body shape looks better in the v8's than the Holden on the track.

Brocky aren't you about 3 years too late posting this thread?
The grill has been changed. And buyer reaction along with it. |

Could be wrong about this, but i think the engine will shut down if overheating or oil pressure dramas, all it needs is run flat tyres and it`s indestructable...opps,i forgot about NSW drivers. XR8 can outbrake HSV brake upgrade packs. |

I had a VT 1 Exec for 2 years and loved it. Rather like the styling.
I've now got an AU 2 Futura, which i've had for 14 months and i think most would agree that the new grill and Fairmont bonnet on the series 2 has done wonders for the appearance of the lower spec models. |
