Plum Pudding Meeting - Mallory Park 26 December

This is a little bit of motorsporting tradition.

The event is for bikes and cars and is a great way to clear the post Christmas blues.

Anybody going?

Marshalling - usual place, but only for the car bits. I'll spectate for the bikes!

Perhaps all attending should meet up lunchtime for a quick drink and chat? (those not having to drive home themselves can have a slow drink!)

I doubt there will be a lunch interval per se, as the entire meeting will be squeezed into the same amount of time as a typical afternoon of racing.

If the day runs like it did last year we'll start around 10 am and be finished around 3.30 so we won't need lunch!!

Bar?

If that's the case, how about a swift half at the end of the day?

No doubt Mike and I will already been somewhat merry, as we'll be in there a fair bit during the day!

Make a suggestion and get shot down in flames eh! No wonder people get upset and refuse to post any more! I merely thought it would be nice to meet a few people and put faces to names and not to start a debate about whether there would be a lunch break or not!

No point in arranging to meet at lunchtime if there ain't gonna be a lunch break, is there?

Go to the cafe first thing in the morning - that's where most of the marshals will be! Those who indulge in such things say the Mallory breakfasts are superb.......me, I'll just have a mug of coffee to get the caffeine level up to normal!

Not at all - I hope that wasn't the interpretation that you put on my comments! I'll be there all day, quite busy with reporting and commentating - so even if you don't see me you will at least hear me!

Unless you take decent ear protection. I would recommend it.

For the car and bike engines, of course...

Someone will indeed! How long will it take someone to deliver 30 odd boxes of mince pies round every marshal on the circuit do you think?

Just looking at the very long range forecast - the forecast for Christmas Day appears to be for sleet, but finer for Boxing Day with a maximum temperature of a balmy 1 deg celsius!

Anyone interested in being a lapcharter?
