Pier luigi Martini has quit the rafanelli team that he was to drive at le man with saying that a non works car has no chance of winning at le man. his place has been filled by fellow italian emmanuele naspetti and he will join the team in time to shake down their brand new Lola chassis at magny cours.
do you think it was the right decision for pier luigi to quit or do you think that a non works car such as the Olive garden team have a real shot at winning the classic? either way this must throw their preparations out a little bit and doesnt leave them with much time to accomodate their new driver |

Since Didier de Radigues & Mimmo Schiattarella have done all of the racing and testing with this car, I dont think its a big loss. Emanuele Naspetti is a very talented driver and will complement the other two, quite well. As for Martini, what a poor attitude for a race car driver. Many drivers have accepted roles, with much less chance of victory, just to have an opportunity to race. Isnt that why they all do it, for the love of the sport!

I agree ..i think if there was a complete falling out with the team or he got a better offer than maybe its understandable to quit ..but just because the car may not win isnt very sportsmanlike..and the rafenelli car is pretty quick so they possibly have shot at doing very well.
