That rear spoiler is definitely a bit dodgy! It looks like they've borrowed it from another car (don't know what though).

The front looks a little like the Ford Escort Cosworth.

The front looks quite good actually, although its clear someone in the Mitsubishi design team didn't know where the rear wing should go.

That looks idiotic. If it goes like it looks, they're in big trouble!

The first thing I saw was a Peugeot 205 in someones sig. Before I realised there was a moment of utter disbelief.....the new Lancer looks.....reasonably similar to this years to me, aside from the facelift and crappy spoiler. Not that bad...

Apparantly the Aero work on the new car was done by Lola in Huntington,UK!
I suppose we shouldn't be surprised as they have been pretty innovative in recent years, particularly in ChampCar and also in sportscars. When you think about it, they must have a damn good team and facility there because I also heard that Sauber and some other F1 teams used them earlier this year. But as far as I know this is the first time that Lola have been involved in WRC.What sort of tunnel do they have, is it F1 standard? And why were Sauber there in the first place when they have just unveiled their all singing all dancing one? Intriguing! I wonder if Lola will do more on this and exactly what they have done specifically anyway on it.Anyone know? |

Those pictures look too heavily touched up to be real. I think the rear spoiler has been pasted on from a peugeot. in the side on shot the boot sticks out behind the spoiler, the other shot should show the rest of the boot but it doesnt, and the two spoilers just dont look the same.

I like it, sure the spoiler is incredibly ugly, but they did it for aero reasons so lets cutt them a break

That is the real thing I a afraid, but as I say there are other things on the car that are far more interesting. The main one being that the car is running with passive diffs from the start, the centre diff splits the power as normal but no active diffs as yet. Not sure whether this is just the electro magnetic system they have always used at Mitsubishi or a whole new thing, sounds interesting anyway.
Car looks bloody lovely |

They don't use the electro magnetic system any longer.
