List of Endurance Races

Although Wikipedia is a great help on finding most of the races such as Le Mans and Nurburgring, I think some of the obscure races such as the 12 Hours at Abu Dhabi were missing on that site.

So I'm thinking, I think we need to gather all existing endurance races and group them together as either major races like Le Mans and Daytona, and minor races such as Zolder, etc.

What do you think?

I'm guessing 6 Hours and longer?

Yes, 6 Hours and longer... But that one would consider them as minor since there are many 1000Km/6 Hours races on the planet like at Watkins Glen, Suzuka, and Bahrain.

- Dubai [GT, TC].
- Daytona [DP, GT, TC].
- Le Mans [LMP, GT].
- Nurburgring [GT, TC].

- Silverstone [GT, TC].
- Navarra(48) [GT, TC].

12 Hours:

It's possible I've missed a few of the more obscure events.
Seems pretty likely there could be some changes and additions after the LMS, AsLMS, and BES calenders are finalised, anyway.

I focused on 12HR and 24HR races, plus Bathurst 1000. here's the list I came up with

24 Dubai
24 Daytona
12 Bathurst

24 Nurburgring

24 Silverstone

It's a good start, but you have to select them as major (which is significant) and minor.

Take Daytona, Sebring, Le Mans, Nurburgring, Spa, and Petit Le Mans together and group them as major endurance series.

Now do the math on the rest...

I guess you could include the 25 hours of Thunderhill as modern GT cars can enter. Pretty much anything can.

Unfortunately, I think that event has been discontinued after 2008... What a sad day for Japanese endurance racing, especially Super Taikyu.

Not counting the first few running of Le Mans, has there ever been a 24 hour street race? I imagine it would be tough to keep a city closed for that long but it would be extremely cool
