Splatz should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I want to get everyones betsed hedge or hedged bet - pick - for 2001 F1 champ? Whats your bet? McLaren speed? Ferrari reliability? Rubens to beat Michael? Coultard over Mika?
Maybe its Minardi's year finally? heh heh, no seriously I really mean that......

I'd love to here your choices and to know what you all think. There have been many changes and developements for 2001. It could be the most open competition in years.

Anyway my pick goes to Juan Pablo Montoya.

Easy peezy. Schumacher M. Again. Much as I hate to think of it...

Too soon for the boy wonder (Button) or Montoya. The Colombian will win a race though. As will Villeneuve.

I'm afraid it will be up to the same two persons that battled it out this year.
Hakkinen or Schumacher?
Although I do like Mika very much, I'm a Ferrari fan, so my choice would have to be Schumacher.
Mind you, there could be some surprises from Villeneuve, Button and Montoya this year.

Yes, Schumacher is most likely. I think Mika is still the only one who will give him a run for his money.
Another two horse race....

I want to see Rubens win another race!!
Jenson won't win the Championship this year, but he will one year, it will come down to Mika and Micheal again, I want Mika to win it!! (Go Mclaren)

If Ferrari come out with a strong package to rival Mclaren from day 1 Michael will win with 2 races up his sleeve, on the other hand if Mclaren gain a significant edge for the first few races, then Michael will take the title in the final race.

Let's not forget that Jordan have Honda Works engines next year and if they put a good chassis together they'll steal a few points from Ferrari and Macaroon.

I think Mika and Macaroon next year.

Fantasy? How about Benneton and Button?

....im afraid i cant see Jordan getting as much as BAR would from the Honda, Peter. Olivier is gonna make Jacques attack from race 1...

But sticking to my man's words, Ralf is gonna do it- do it as in win a couple of races...am sure abt that!!!!

Put The Schu in an Arrows i say!!!!

Fair comment but I feel that Jordan can make better use of the engine than BAR for whatever reasons.

My pick

In spite of the difficult is I pick Montoya like 2001 winner, his performance could be regular this year and I believe he will begin to win race very soon, before the fourth race.

Ralph and Button, will make a good work this year.

I think after the year Williams had last year, either Ralph or JPM have a good shot at second or third at drivers and constructors. BAR will improve. Arrows is getting better. Jordan and Jaguar, i'm going to guess will have a "challenging" season. Benneton is going to have reliability problems too. Thats next season for you!!

Villeneuve: Champion in 2001.

Do not underestimate Villeneuve, BAR, or Honda. I think this their season to shine.

Also note that I am a perpetual optimist for my favorite driver.

As much as I would love Handle's wish to come true, I can't realistically see it happening.

I pick TGF as firm favourite for the 2001 WDC. Mika again will be his main challenger, and I grant DC an outside chance, because he's promised to do better! (And he does have the machinery to do it...)

Those are the only three I can see with a realistic chance of doing it. Ralf, Montoya, and maybe even Villeneuve and Button could win race(s), but won't be consistent enough at the top to be able to challenge for TGF's crown IMO.

This year I hope we have someone completely different, ie DC. He says he'll do it every year, and it has never happened, and Murray has said that's what he wants to happen and it would be a farewell present to him to see DC take it.
Otherwise it will be the usual suspects, Michael and Mika. Rubens won't be given a chance sadly as that team is SOOO biased! Having said that, McLaren's pit stop choices have been one sided last year...
Ralf will win one, as will my favourite driver, JARNO(!), and Jenson will get his first podium, as will JP Montoya.

Montoya will win three races - how about Silverstone, Spa and Monza for size? Panis will win once, as will Villenueve. Mika and DC will win roughly the smae number of races and Rubens will be in there too.
