[iV8SC14R141516] Perth 400, Barbagallo -16-18 May
Off to Perth... to Wanneroo... to a racetrack that can eat tyres in a badly set up car... or make them look like heroes when the set is right...
Will 888 come back, from two rounds that must have them scratching their heads? Will FPR persist with the momentum? Two cars in the hunt most of the time, not always the same two cars, but #5 running hot! Any foot shootings planned? Or is it up to someone else to lead the charge? Will BJR get on top of the maladies afflicting #14 in race trim, and #8 in qualifying trim? And whatever is wrong with #21? Or will #97 Teknoman get the spoils? Not long til we find out. Lets see if we can get some more different winners to podium. |

Hopefully it's a nice sunny weekend as we have an apartment by the beach for my wife and kids whilst I go to the track with the V8 utes.

What's the track surface like over there these days, is it still abrasive and hard on tyres?

WAY TO GO who ever decided this stunt. Becomes a rather expensive few days out if your heading to the track alone. What a FARCE !!!!

With limited parking at the track this makes perfect sense. but if you want to save money catch the train to Clarkson and then the free shuttle bus. there i just saved you money on petrol |

My concern is that people who have already purchased tickets for the event weren't advised about extra parking costs. I just think its a little hidden cost that people are going to be hit with when they hit the track and don't know about it. That's all. |

Im sure this isn't new at this track. I went there two years ago and im sure we paid to park at the track it self. There were cleared areas outside the track precinct that people were parking at and catching the bus The track does just need have the ability to park all the cars at the track. Its part of the reason V8S wanted to go elsewhere. Its suitable for small crowd events but lacks facilities (like parking) for the big V8 events |

I guess as the events grow costs increase. The Train Ride then tour bus to the track sucks imho. I wasn't expecting parking fees but that's life I guess Im just trying to prewarn people who go for 3 days to expect another $60 or so in parking fees, that's all. I put it down to two things: The years Tony Cochrane et al spent rubbishing the facilities. The new pit lane that neatly blocks the view across the track for nearly everyone. It may be just fine for the teams and a few corporate types but for spectators it is hopeless and alot of people have given up just because they cant see anything anymore. |

The infield pits was a lousy idea.

Looks like there'd be enough room for it on the correct side, although by the time you shuffle some of the other buildings around, it'd work out a lot dearer. |

Has anything on a permanent circuit ever been good enough for V8Supercars in the last 10-15 years?
I'm not sure how building a whole new pitlane can be justified if, as alluded to earlier in this thread, it has had an adverse affect on crowd numbers paying at the gate to get in. |

There is a decent elevation drop from the pits behind pit lane and the pit lane it self, a lot of dirt/buildings would of needed to be moved to build the pits on the outside of the track. Just would never of happened.

Oh ok, fair enough.
Google maps doesn't really show much in the way of elevation changes. |
