Getting my Go Kart ready to race again
Hi,
After a three year hiatus from Karting due to health reasons, I am finally able to get back into things. The problem is that my Arrow AX8 Yamaha j100 has been against the wall in the garage for three years with no use. I have a couple of questions about the condition of the kart after not being use for such an amount of time. 1. The tyres have dried out and are giving off a blue tint. Does anyone know the process is to retreating them? 2. Would the chassis have become brittle in anyway after no use for this long? 3. Are there any drivers in Melbourne, Australia that could help me out with a set of used race tyres? 4. How much would it set me back to install a clutch and electric start (or maybe pull start) including labor (as i believe there is some engineering involved)? Thanks in advanced, I really appreciate your help! |

for the tyres have you tried just take a little bit of rubber off the top of the tyres? plus have you tried running the engine since its not been used for a while? to make sure its not ceased up?
