Which means you must have been reading the F1 section! Even worse perhaps?
I can go one worse though - I'm currently in Barcelona doing timing for the F1 testing but in my defence I'd rather be watching historics. |

Surely Formula 1 cars time themselves, what are you doing there? |

We don't like snitch's in historics, or are you being a snitch in F1? So either way you may well be getting a bat for A; dobbing him in and B; going to F1 in the first place, have you no scruples man?

T'is another wind up as Bob himself posts often in F1, as do I. He obviously has nothing better to do although why he has to pick on poor old Mike, I don't know!

Wow, named in a thread title! There's no such thing as bad publicity, so they say..... John, Bob's just getting his own back for a post I made on another thread.
I very rarely post on other Tenths forums, but it was only one line anyway! Most on that or another section take motor SPORT far too seriously for me to butt in, but without reading multiple threads about certain LMP1 cars, I wouldn't now be so up on flywheel energy recovery systems and mega joules, for instance! |

Maybe that is what all of those F1 simulators are about? Bright decorations on a path to sporting oblivion. |

Grant, think we can go OT as the original post was a non topic anyway!
Can you imagine trying to run a current hybrid LMP1 car at an 'historic' event in 20-30 years time? |

Well no you can't. There was a Peugeot LMP1 for sale recently and as part of the deal you had to have the licence codes for the software and the use of Pug engineers to run it!
If we are going OT there are those who think that simulator racing is a good replacement for the junior formulae so that good drivers go straight into F3. |

That's it Mr Bell try and obfuscate the original purpose of this thread, throw the mods of the scent, lead the unwary down a deviant path.
Where were the Mods when the crime was committed, asleep at the wheel no doubt? Scandalous!!!! |

Mind you, they use to say that about the later Group C and the BOSS F1 cars but a way was found to make them run. This years latest technology is next years steam hammer!
Oh, and if I live long enough I'd love to see DBR9s, CR6s, 550s and Vipers turn up in historics! Proper front engine RWD cars, the true descendants of DB4GTZ, Project cars, 250GTOs, Lightweight Es and Shelby Cobras etc. Many years ago, I saw a laptop diagnostics programme plugged into a Mk 1 Lotus Cortina; it doesn't feel right now, let alone then! Edit, oh ello, Troubles, back! |

Can't speak for the Group C but the BOSS stuff (or most of it) would never get a passport for historic racing based on the appropriateness and historical correctness of the components. Past the mid 90s that possibility seems to get ever further away, although I suppose a few lucky people who could fund their part time hobby at recent F1 budget scale somehow might just about have enough clout to get someone to re-create the required components. Does anyone still talk about chassis numbers and who drove them when since carbon fibre took off? No doubt there will be some form of motivation for marketing somewhere to evoke the spirit of modern motor sport for the generations who will think of their era as "Historic" in 20 or 30 years from now .... but what form will it take? Realistically it might be easier and much cheaper to introduce some sort of "Silhouette" formula and allow people to chase their memories that way. |

Hey, you two, I've started a PROPER thread for discussing future historics, so stop bumping this one up! Let it gently fade away.........

Well, Mike is right, in the sense that there is a separate thread on the subject. I suppose I can merge the threads, or at least move the relevant posts over, if I can be bothered ........... maybe .......... sometime..........!!
