Best defeats

Which races have there been where we saw the best riders being humbled and well beaten without them making any mistakes? The two that spring to mind for me are:

Troy Bayliss - Imola 2002, Race 2

Neil Hodgson - Misano 2003, Race 2

I never saw Carl Fogarty race, so I can't think of any good defeats from him - I only read about them in his biography, which isn't really the same, but Philip Island 1999, Race 1 could count, where Troy Corser outfoxed him on the last lap.

umm ... not sure what year it was, but, ive seen a couple races between fogarty/chili where chili simply stalked him and was able to: disspear down the road with a few laps to go or grab the win in the last lap in the last few corners.

throw in corser on a ducati and it was better yet.

McWilliams getting muged into third when he led at Donnington for most of the race. That was a defeat to be proud of.

I forgot all about that one! That race was almost as good as the WSBK at Imola 2002! The last laps almost mirrored each other!

I wouldn't say Rossi lost his head though. Gibernau just beat him at his own game.
