Byrne double
Impressive performance, also by Reynolds to grab the Rolex and 2nd in race 2.
Will Monstermob really gob WSB next year, or was that announcement just made in the moment, and how will they go. Special mention i reckon to Sean Emmett, his bike was a real grandpa's axe, an ancient Ducati 996RS, and look what he did with it. If only he hadn't jumped the start....... The wildcards on top, i love it |

A great double! If only JR hadn't had problems in race 1......
Another two all-English podiums! I think Monstermob are serious about WSB next year - they have been talking about it for some time now; Shaky's performance this weekend has probably made the decision for them. Good to see Sean back on form - he had a good weekend at the Mondello BSB meeting as well. |

I'm not convinced that Shaky is ready for the World Superbikes of 2004 level, but he might be abel to comepte on a regualr basis against the current inferior field, especially if Neil also mvoes on, and Ducati continue to have Xaus on a works bike.
Beating the international riders with local knowledge is one thing, especially when the best guys ar eplayign for championship points, and the wildcards ahd the advantage of havign raced on the modified Sheene curve whereas the international guys haven't. Doing a better job on tracks you odn't know, all over the world, is quite another. |

WSB of 2004 level? The Japanese manufacturers pulling out & a Pirelli control tyre? Looks even more like 'Formula Ducati'! |

And how long before Ducati themselves pull out their works team? It looks like WSB is dead and buried We'll soon have Xaus in MotoGP at this rate! |

no .. Honda are looking to enter with CBR1000 maybe nest year . with Ten-Kate .. and with Vermullen(i'm never gonna get his name right )
also next years . i think the restictors will be no restictors for the 4 cyl 1000 cc bikes ... so GSX-R 1000 ,R1 and CBR .. maybe even Kawasaki ..... looks good |

Doesn't look good from the angle that the 'works' team will probably disappear. To me that doesn't matter, as there will still be 'works assisted' teams, and with what seems like an advantage being to 4 cylinder bikes, more variety in makes for the teams.
The Pirelli control tyre is a joke though. Quote:

Suzi Perry said on the coverage, the manufacturers may not be here next year but the championship definitely will. It's not really much of a championship with just privateers racing! They will all buy second-hand Ducatis and that will be it!
And although I'm glad Shakey won, it's a shame there wasn't a win for something other than a Ducati on Sunday. JR was so close! |

A great double for JR at Mondello, though! I'll admit, as I ran to the incident, that I was relieved when I saw it was Kagayama who'd crashed. No disrespect to Yukio, but at first I thought it was JR who was down........ |

I'm not sure that Ducati's, considering the new rules for next year, will be competitive. The way i read it the 4 cylinder bikes will have the advantage |

Ducati is also considering building a 4 cyl bike for the road .
and also in 2005 Aprilia could return with the new RSV Mille ... (maybe 2004 . but very unlikely) |
