It came out in Canada a couple of months ago. I saw it. Lots of rice, usual overblown Hollywood stuff. Some trully stupid inaccurate automotive blunders. For example : a laptop that warns of an impending intake failiure. The intake blows, somehow causes part of the FLOORPAN to blow off when he adds too much nitrous ,but the car somehow continues to race with no intake. Nitrous is called "NOS" .I won't go into Honda Civics hijacking eighteen-wheelers....
On the up side ,there are some nice cars, entertaining street racing, and a totally awesome Dodge Charger that sounds beautiful !! Entertaining, but with lots of inacuracies. Alan |

Where is the muscle in the film though, it was an American film. I was expecting Mustangs, Camaro's, Viper's and so on, all we got was a great looking Charger. The rest were turbo charged 4s or 6s, not that there is anything wrong with that, just not what i was expecting.
Oh yeah and it took them about 5 minutes to do the quarter mile. |

The movie is supposed to reflect the current scene in California, where most of the kids buy and modify imports (insurance and gas is cheaper ) . Mustangs and Camaros etc are considered old school and low tech . In actual fact most of the imports become multi-stickered,multi-coloured ,slammed grocery getters that sound like a flatuant bee .And they're still slow !!
Only a few are fast. I enjoy blowing by them in my supercharged Mustang !! Alan |

And talking about the Japanese cars, they do leave huge amount of room to be modified.
The show's pretty okay, good for entertainment if you like cars and stuffs...but HEY, i think they should expect people who knows about car modifications to watch the show, and on that, they screw up... so many things were just not realistic...Eg. After the intake blew up, the undercover piece of dunk could still drive it at top speed away from the cops chasing...what gives...? And the "tuning genius" who is so great at modifying cars and nothing else...he should have known better than to race his white brick against a modified S2000...LoL. But the supra and rx7 looks pretty neat... too bad that don't feature more of the GtR R34 instead (besides the tiny girl saying " seeya~"). Hey Fast...remember that those are just "kids" and so...have limited amount of cash to do the tuning....which explains their speed. Now if somebody would like to built me my dream GtR... lightning blue, silver rims 18s, blue xenon lights, stiffen up the suspension abit and up the power to 800....it'd be sufficient~ (woah...i heard there are GtR's running in Japan with more than 1000bhp...but sadly my country's top speed limit is a sickening 120km/h~) |

I thought the races were really boring, like 5 minutes down the quarter mile and no corners or braking duels, boooooring!

I just about died laughing when Vin came out with the line "I live my life a quarter mile at a time". What a classic.

I've got the DVD and the director's commentary is the best, he takes it all so seriously. He even says 'if Detroit knew as much about cars as these guys they wouldn't be in the trouble they are in now.'
