The Alfa Romeo 156 GTA ETCC car in Autosport
What do you think of the new car that is in the photo on page 14 of the latest Autosport magazine? Especially those flared wheel arches. I think it needs an inch bigger wheels. But otherwise I reckon it looks great. A good balance between Super Touring, BTC Touring, and DTM.
Any colour scheme suggestions? |

I reckon Alfa should change their colour scheme a bit. The yellow and white streaks of Selinia[?] a few years ago looked great, but the red has dominated the cars too much in recent seasons.
How about a return to the ITC-style Martini colours? Now that would look awesome! |

Surely that all depends on the sponsor. If Selena are providing the funding why would they let the team use Martini colours?
Nice car though |

Larsen,
Unless someone scans the picture you'll have to buy the double-issue of Autosport. Sorry, I don't have a scanner. |

That Alfa looks awesome!
On the subject of colour schemes though, I think Alfa Romeo will stick with a red based livery as virtually all racing Alfas have been red. Were those Martini sponsored 155s from the DTM works cars? |

Wasn't some ex-DTM/STW driver employed to develop the car further? Or was that Alfa based on the V8 Star series racing in Germany?? Those cars look pretty much like the good 'ol DTM series. |

Nordauto built the ETCC car, as always they seem to be Alfa's favourite. Don't know anymore than that.

From early november:
Alfa Romeo ETCC 2002 ETCC 06/11/01 Alfa Romeo held a press conference at the Bolonga Motor Show yesterday (Wednesday) where they revealed their ETCC 2002 programme. Alfa Romeo will come with no less than six factory-supported cars. The model they will use, as we reported already in June 2001, is the new Alfa Romeo 156 GTA. Team Nordauto will run two or three GTA's officially with Fabrizio Giovanardi and Nicola Larini confirmed as drivers. A decision whether they will run a third car will be taken after Christmas. Two other teams will also have some factory support. Scurderia Bigazzi and AGS Motorsport are hot contenders for running those cars as well as British team HTML. The new Alfa 156 GTA will make its first test laps tomorrow (Friday). Johan Meissner |
