Overtaking Move of the Year?
Mine is Schumi’s passing of Jarno Trulli on the run-off tarmac at Hockenheim - What's yours?

Montoya at Nurburgring. Part of the way you judge an overtaking manoever is on who you perform it on.
By the same token any on Frentzen don't count |

I don't think Michael nudged Montoya sufficiently to be seen as unfair.

If you play F1sims you know that to overtake entering the Spoon Curve in Suzuka is nearly impossible,JPM still managed it on Barichello.True that RB's slight mistake was necessary.I still won't call it the overtaking move of the year let me rewatch the season first during the cold winter nights, but I'm pretty sure that it's going to be a JPM or a Barichello move,Alonso also made a few nice one but I don't recall that he made of the most spectacular ones.Thats rather those Latin-American's cup of tea.

Definitely JPM on Schu this year. That really stands out!
Ross Brawn may not agree...("Montoya isn't classy!" *sound of dummy clattering on floor*) Last edited by Knowlesy; 21 Oct 2003 at 20:18. |

The last-half-a-lap Barrichello moves at Silverstone were very good too. Especially the one on Kimi - although Kimi deserves some credit for hanging in there (on this point credit should be given to people you can be overtaken too!).

Ralf had a few good moves at Hungary and even managed to pass his brother.

Easy. Montoya on Barrichello, first lap of Suzuka going into Spoon-corner. That move took all the guts in the world and Montoya excuted it faultless. A truly brilliant move.

Michael's fending off of Montoya at Monza was very good, but not what I mean. |

JPM on TGF at the Nurburgring. Got past and forced the other into a mistake.
Rubens has made tonnes of moves this year, most in the one race!!! |

I say Michael Schumacher nearly taking out Sato in an over ambitious move into the chicane at Suzuka.
Oh wait, he never actually passed Sato... But my serious favourite is Raikkonen at Melbourne, pushing MS out onto the grass exiting turn 1. That took balls! |

Narrow it down to one pass, I dunno. I'll say this much Ralf was the surprise overtaker of the year, did it frequently and had some good ones.

People!!! Not one mention of Barrichello's move on Ralf at the last chicane in Imola for 3rd place???
I have to agree with Rafael-Fisi on Kimi in Brazil, in a dog of a car lacking verything except massive oversteer, on a drying track. |

Yeh but just the fact that Fisi got close enough to put him under that amount of pressure to make a mistake deserves a mention. And it got Jordan 10 points!!
