ATF should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Gibernau/Laconi take poles

A fitting tribute to his team-mate Daijiro Kato, in what is described as an emotional pole position for Sete Gibernau.

Meanwhile in Japan, Regis Laconi has taken pole with champ leader Hodgson in 5th. Could we see a new winner tomorrow?

MotoGP

1. Gibernau
2. Rossi
3. Biaggi
4. Capirossi
5. Nakano
6. Ukawa
7. Checa
8. Edwards
9. Bayliss
10.Barros

WSBK

1. Laconi
2. Chili
3. Lavilla
4. Watanabe
5. Hodgson
6. Walker
7. Toseland
8. Corser
9. Izutsu
10.Pedercini

So, any predictions?

Hodgson won both races and was never really threatened. Lavilla did a good job in the second race but Hodgson said he was holding back though! Xaus qualified 12th but finished 4th in both races.

Race 1: 1. Hodgson 2. Laconi 3. Toseland
Race 2: 1. Hodgson 2. Lavilla 3. Chili

Interesting point made by Bill Woods on RPM...

Gibernau's pole time was a 1:33.174. The last 2 numbers being 74.

Shall I cue the Twilight Zone music now?

Race 1 lost all it's promise at turn 1, all the guys likely to challenge Hodgson were taken out.

In race 2, i'm not sure Hodgson was holding back that much, even though he said he was. Another great effort by Lavilla and Chili. The Alstare Suzuki performances should hopefully encourage not only Suzuki to enter another bike, but also the Japanese manufacturers to return in a hurry.

Wonderful effort from Sete. I just hope he can carry it through in the race. Very spooky lap time though.

Let's hope so. A great effort by those two.

Are Ducati the only manufacturer in WSBK at the moment? What about Kawasaki and Suzuki? I thought the commentators had said they were factory bikes!?

The Suzuki's are factory bikes, as are the Foggy Petronas's.

There are no factory Kawasaki's though.

Thanks for that. I didn't realise Suzuki was a manufacturer entry, they should get another bike or two out on the tracks and really try to threaten Ducati!
