ProCras Raceway
Hey
Another Holiday Period equal another track. This one i really like though. The track is only about 4km in length, with pit straight being 400m long, but has some very high speed sections. The track runs anti-clockwise from the start down the bottom (the thick section, the resolution makes it hard to see the lines on the track). Love to hear your comments |

I like this one and I think there's nothing really wrong with it.
Maybe I'd make those three turns befoe the final corner one single midspeed round one. |

I like it, though perhaps 5-5.2 km might work a little better for paddock space and the pit building wouldn't need to come as close to T1 though I would still keep the exit after T1. This in turn would allow space for the run-off from T5. Similarly the enlargement could also add more run-off space for T10.
It would also allow the three corners Bio mentions to be exagerated slightly into more of a feature, perhaps a down hill section rather than changing them altogether. |

There's a little twisty-looking bit before the last corner that I would turn into one corner, that's all I would change. SBF's got a good point about the length. I'd make it longer too. Bugger, that's 2 things I'd change! Good track BTW!
Bio said to another new member of the "My Tracks" club; "Come here lots". I suggest you do, if you have any more tracks that is. |

Good track. I'd do what most seem to want to with extending the length but I'd also reverse the direction. I just feel it has a better flow going clockwise. Still a good track though, which with lots of elevation changes could be great.

Thanks For the comments I'm heasitant to change those 3 corners, as i just like the flow over them. I've added a pic from ground level to show the elevation change over it too. It dips from the first one, then climbs (hard to see from the angle). about 2m of height change from the bottom of the middle corner to the top of the 3rd.
I originally had the corner like the 5th and 6th corners, but it just felt repeaditive. Adding this little section adds a unique character to the corner IMO. Last edited by GT VIRUS; 20 Jun 2008 at 07:42. |

Looks great. It'd probably have to be a bit over 5 km or 3 mi, though. And it has a few great spots for shortcuts for club racing.

Nah, Bio! You made me feel like an idiot. I didn't know he'd been around as long as he has. I just seemed he was a new member of the club. |

That's a new idea and....ummmm........well it would be great to actually go around a track as if it was like an on-board camera on an F1 car or something. Unfortunately for myself, I'm not that smart, making videos like that and so on.

Sketchup has an "animation" tool that can do this. I had an experimental virtual lap video back with my first Sketchup project a couple of months ago - and I was planning to do one with the one I'm working on right now.

Well i make my tracks in 3ds max 8 and then export them to rFactor to drive on . Currently just making a pitlane for the track and then i'll pull it into rfactor for a nice spin.
