F1 "Silly Season."

Speculation/Rumors/Innuendo! These things make "bench-racing" an enjoyable pastime. However, all good things must come to an end! My question is this: When do you all think that we will have a good grip on the driver/team lineups for 2003?

Looking forward to your input and an end to Silly Season so we can begin discussing the wisdom of the signings/firings!

Freud - yes I realize this has been discussed a bazillion times, I apologize if I was not clear enough! My question is related to when we would have a firm idea: announcements made, glowing press releases etc. I am not real familiar with the contractual periods used so I am wondering when everything will be firmed up for '03.

NiceGuyEddie should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ferrari: M. Schumacher - Rubens Barrichello
McLaren: D. Coulthard - K. Raikkonen
Williams: R. Schumacher - J.P. Montoya
Renault: F. Alonso - J. Trulli
Toyota: M. Salo - C. da Matta
Jordan: G. Fisichella - T. Sato (or Eddie Irvine, when Ford wants it to happen)
Minardi: J. Wilson - A. Davidson (or Bryan Herta)
Jaguar: P. Delarosa - M. Webber
Sauber: N. Heidfeld - F. Massa (or H.H. Frentzen when Peter Sauber isn't coming to his senses in time)
BAR: J. Villeneuve - J. Button

I don't think Arrows will compete in 2003. For the time being its far too early to predict in which form a new team will take its place.

Interesting to see that there still are people who list a second rate driver, who couldnt manage to score more than 20 points in 8 seasons, more often than not saw a contract not extended (and the only time it happened, he was released from that contract), and up till now hasn't drove a single mile in a racingcar of any sort from oktober 2001 on. Quite annoying actually.

Hmm, let's see, with numbers as they are in the championship...

Ferrari: 1. M. Schumacher, 2. Barrichello
Williams: 3. R. Schumacher, 4. Montoya
McLaren: 5. Coulthard, 6. Raikkonen
Renault: 7. Trulli, 8. Alonso
Sauber: 9. Heidfeld, 10. Massa (I think, but Heinz maybe?)
Jordan: 11. Fisichella, 12. Sato (or Irvine, or Heinz)
BAR: 14. Villeneuve, 15. Button (don't see JV back to CART)
Jaguar: 16. De la Rosa, 17. Webber (PDLR seemed confirmed, but who knows?)
Minardi: 18. Herta?, 19. (as always, who knows)
Toyota: 20. Salo, 21. da Matta (or HHF, or Irvine, or McNish even)

Arrows? Phoenix anyone?

I would not be surprised if Webber goes somewhere other than Jaguar. Just remember who told you first.

Mclaren : Kimi and DC
Renault : Trulli and Alonso
Jordan : Fisi and HHF
Sauber: Heidfeld and Webber
BAR: Villeneuve and Bunsen
