Does the slimline PS2 already have the network thing built in? I have broadband connection so do I just plug it in the back and away we go?

No, you don't.
As far as i'm aware, you need to buy the PS2 network kit (if you have a normal PS2) which comes with a network access disc, or just obtain one (unsure how) if you have a slimline PS2. The disc allows you to configure your PS2 to play online games and you also need a memory card to store your network setttings...thats it! I think, David |

I got the "kit" for my original PS2 and it does indeed come with the NAD. Have to say it's a real p.i.t.a. to set it up with a router tho. It probably depends on the game, but i doubt (unlike Satansoft's XBox) there will ever be a subscription to pay. You just connect via your current PC connection and away ya go. The kit came with some semi-useful guidelines on how to set it up, but i'm not sure about the v2PS2 and what you get with it. I'll aska mate who has one and see what the deal is.
Can't say i play much PS2 online tho, as most games are very limited online compared to what PC games can currently handle... |
