australian superbike round 3.....
was held at qld raceway on the weekend. defending champion shaun giles won all 3 races from yamaha's craig coxhell. seems the gsx-r 1000 has the upper hand on the yamaha r1's and honda 929 (alex gobert had mechanical problems in 2 of the 3 races

The Australian Superbike Championship is a bit of a jike now, i remember when it was fought between world championship spec Kawasaki's, Ducati's, Suzuki's, Honda's and Yamaha's.
What happened to the factory support and why can't you race WSB spec bikes in it anymore. The racing seems alright though, judging by the coverage i saw on FOX Sports at The WSB meeting. |

factorys pulled out because they got no tv exposure while running the aust road racing championships etc.....used to look forward to seeing the superbikes more than the v8 supercars when they raced on the same card.....
the new format of production superbikes is ok right ow in its 1st season with some very talented teenage riders - should only get stronger when the series swaps to a summer series starting this november
