RIP Michele
Michele Alboreto died one year ago today. Besides being an excellent driver, of all Ferrari drivers in recent memory, he was perhaps the most loved. R.I.P.

Ive got a framed photo of him by my PC, alongside one of Gilles. I hope they are somewhere together thrilling the Tifosi once again. Michele understood the fans, because he himself was one. A class act. Forza Michele !

He died testing for Le Mans, not ALMS. I know its a slight difference, but I'm picky like that.

I saw Alboreto for the first time at the Nurburgring F2 race in the Minardi 281-BMW in 1981 and since that moment I was a Alboreto fan and a Minardi fan.
First I know him only from F3 and the Lancia Sportscars. But Alboreto was one of the greatest and nicest drivers I have ever seen. I have a big picture of him in my living room a look every day to Michele. |

I remember, still, when I heard on April 26th, that one former Formula One driver had died in testing accident. Then I read from newspaper ans saw it was Alboreto. What a shock.
