asha should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Will Jeremy Burgess take on Stoner?

As it seem all but decided that 2006 will be Rossi's last year in motogp (as he shoots for F1 glory), one has to ask oneself, who will Jeremy Burgess' "Motogp Dream Team" take on next?

It was widely known that JB's team was the best in motorcycle racing before they even took Rossi on. Just ask Wayne Gardner, and Mick Doohan!

You've gotta say that out of the current riders in the smaller classes, (especially with Dani going to HRC) that Stoner is form rider out there.

And he is Australian!

What do you think?

That question will be answered next year when we find out if Pedrosa is "Rossi good".

Not sure Pedrosa will do that well in MotoGP, I hope he does because the boy is a star but MotoGP is a big leap from 250

It's an even bigger leap than it was in the 500cc era. Look at Melandri - highly capable rider, but it took him 2 years to really get the hang of it. Is the plan still for Pedrosa to ride the 800cc factory test machine as a way to gain experience with less pressure on his performance?

Considering the way Yamaha have advanced over the last 2 years, they may be competitive with Honda for 2007, although Honda have an easier task in designing an 800cc bike, so Burgess may be able to focus on an established rider for a couple of years, and bring in a young talent (perhaps Stoner) to learn the ropes, and take over as the lead rider as and when he's ready.

Q: What about the future and 2006?
A: Casey has a contract with the LCR team for next season, but we had agreed on a minimum fee release clause so now it’s like he’s on the 250cc and MotoGP market. He would prefer to move up to MotoGP and has had offers from various teams. As we have a very open and friendly relationship, I’m aware of the offers he's had. On my side, I’m doing everything I can to retain him and I’m talking with our sponsor to see what the LCR team can do in 2006, be it with Casey on a MotoGP bike or in 250cc with Aprilia and another rider.

Geez Colin Edwards is a good guy - not many riders would speak favourably about another rider.

I read today that Yamaha are interested, Casey has a standing offer from Aprilia for a works bike AND Pedrosa's old 250cc team want him as well.

Not bad, eh?

If I were a betting man...

.........my modest sponduli would be placed on Mr Stoner in a Fortuna-backed MotoGP Yamaha team in 2006....

.... with factory technical support, but one step behind the Gauloises Rossi operation....

Anyone who knows me knows I dont like to lose money.........
