Fernandez blew it for once

I can't understand why Fernandez, having made the right tactical choice and stayed out when most of the field pitted, putting him in the lead, opted to pit under the later yellow just before Servia's big crash, when he had little to gain from it and could have easily won the race. Restarts at Laguna Seca are rarely trouble free, so the likelihood of more yellows should have been apparent to him, and with time ticking on and eventually chopping 7 laps off, he should ahve been aware that he had a chance to win.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but unfortunately for Fernandez he didn't know that Servia was going to have a big accident, he probably asked himself the same question after the race.
