.....or are we expecting a real shocker of a driver announcement- money outweighing talent to a degree never yet seen in the BTCC....?

I think Les would have preferred it that way...

I think the announcement Les is referring to will illustrate the fact that the BTCC has lost its credibility as a Premier saloon car series, to become a media controlled circus driven by marketing departments and money!!

Nothing surprises me now in BTCC. There are more top drivers in CLios now. That is goiing to be where the action is at!!!

I just can't believe that a team could throw away a real chance of winning the championship let alone the independent championship for a ruddy 'name.'
Well sod the touring cars - I'm going to be sticking with my proddies and Clios. |

Is this about TMSR?
Speaking of which, there's something very strange on their website... http://www.totalmotorsportracing.com...play.asp?ID=15 |

Either they've been hacked or there's something funny in the water supply.
Is this something to do with the second barwell seat? |

Who's got the seat then? I take it that it wasn't one of the drivers listed as being considered in Autosport etc.

I guess that the way this is heading is that Dave Pinkney has had the chance to drive a Barwell Astra, but now Barwell have decided to run one. An absolute guess...

From the posts by other members in the thread I'm guessing that there will be a second car, but the seat has gone to some-one who is well known, maybe from the TV? Has very little (if any) experience and is there to get publicity/generate mor esponsorship. Am I close?

I think Touring Fan may be right on this one- is could be a TV personailty or an old F1 driver way past there sell by date entering the series?????
it isn't Dave Pinkney that wouldn't be a waste of a seat neither would Tom Ferrier or Chris Goodwin. Llooks like another a waste of a seat to me what a fine line up Chilton BTCC races err zero, and some other driver with probably err zero BTCC races. |

Let me just throw in one suggestion. Les said it was about a name, and has hinted that the driver isn't good in Touring Cars. To me, this only says one thing - Nigel Mansell

actually I would quite like Mansell in a car - I need a tee-shirt signing
I am keeping quiet as there is just a glimmer of a chance... |
