Not a lot happened. The McLarens and Williams look close, especially when you look at secor times. Montoya had a lap where he put in a great third sector, but it was an out lap and then he came back in because it was the end of the session.
Sato's engine blew up so he didn't set a time. Other than that it was quite quiet. Very misty and there where lots of vapour trails of the wings (front and back). |

thanks. Reading from daily F1, it says that Satos engine blew up on his installation lap. was he pushing hard when it went?

There you go Luca!
Ferrari are monopolising the sector times too. Michael and Rubens share the sectors. Montoya has a quick top speed at the end of the first sector (5kph quicker than anyone else), but nothing special across the start finish. THe McLaren's are slow throught hte traps. |

Couldn't really tell whether Sato was pushing, but he probably wasn't. His second sector time was 8s off the norm. And his trap speeds where 80kph down in 1 and 2 (the only sectors he completed).

It'll be close for third.
Kimi off! But he's going for it! a light nurf of the barrier. No teven he could catch that rear end. Irvine 3rd. A slight hint of a tow from Michael, but not a lot. |

Michael is trying two wing settings, described as low and medium by Ross. He is favouring the low on for qual at the moment. They change between the two by changing the rear wing.
Michael used the last part of the session to prepare some tyres for qual. |

DC says all cars are on the Prime tyre.
I think he means all Michelin runners. In which case there aren't as many tyre issues when considering team mates and teams for strategy. |

Michael has granted Bruce Jones an interview...
He thinks qual is going to be tight and he is really excited. He doesn't think Eddie will get third, but they have done well. |
