Arena BTC Honda's for sale...

Arena are offering both their 2003 BTCC Honda Civic's for sale in Autosport.

I wonder if this is early preperation for building new cars for next year, or a signal that Honda may not continue next year, bearing in mind the lateness to re- commit to this season.

Time will tell, no doubt.

Probably early preperation, but it depends on the Honda bigwigs. The company might have been hoping for more this year, and may prefer to redistribute the efforts elsewhere

On the other note, who do we see buying these cars? Synchro, to run 2 cars? B&Q?

both their 2003 Btcc honda civics...

do you mean their 2002 cars, as they have three cars this year plus a spare i think which i saw at the back of the pits at brands.

I hope they are continuing next year

Team Varta originally said they wanted to acquire two 03 btcc cars for their 04 campaign alongside the etcc pugs.

this is a shot in the dark but i read in archived btcc news somewhere that beacon motorsport may make a return in 04 so perhaps they're a candidate. They may have gone to the wall of course, i dont know.

The advert says their 2003 cars, so it's the current cars on offer.

Team Varta will probably buy them, I think they collect cars. Will they break down after one lap? Yes? Then B&Q/York Racing/Team Varta will have them!

Sorry that was cruel, but I feel sorry for their drivers.

What on earth makes you say that considering Tom hasn't written off a single car this year, get your facts right before you slag drivers off.

Wouldn't make much sense though as the ETCC Civics are struggling

I would sincerely hope that number one winds his neck in with a statement like the one he made on this topic. A young lad from the Chester area who is dying of cancer at 16 years of age was two Sundays ago supported by team VARTA at Ellsmere Port for his benifit car show. Didn't see other teams there not even VX racing. Maybe they don't get it right first time but they do try there best to make things work.

Sorry Fabiadoza, I sympathise with the situation but that's completely irrelivent. The team may great towards a sick fan but that has no bearing on how good they are on track.

Why is it that when a team put cars up for sale, the rumour mill goes into overdrive?

Red shoes maybe i do see red at times and maybe people slag off some touring car outfits. I support the underdog as without them production class wouldn't have lasted so long. We all make mistakes but i do feel that people like Team Varta and Barewell need encouagement not put down as some people on here try and do. My appologies.

Just a thought on the Honda Civics. Honda are producing a new Civic for 2004. Perhaps, though it is only slightly changed, Honda will build new cars for 2004.

Isn't some STCC team racing the '02 Honda cars? So they're not buying the '03 cars. Any idea how much they're wanting?

No. One of the 02 cars is in the hands of Synchro Motorsport and the other remains with Arena.

Maybe they're looking to change back to the Accord and build it to ETCC regs?
