Well, this is the moment we've all been waiting for.
Here it is, round nr. 1 of the Predictions Competition. Just a reminder: Everyone is allowed to enter the Predictions Competition whenever they want, even half-way the season. Ofcourse, entering from the beginning gives you the possibility of gaining more points. It is still possible to enter your end-of-year Top 6, until Friday March 2, 24.00 hours, that is. After that, registration closes, and you will not be able to gain some extra points at season's end. To enter your end-of-year Top 6, go here Every driver placed in the right position gets you 2 points. Every driver in the top 6, but not in the right position gets you 1 point. Constructor Championship points will not be included. The reason behind this is the fact that people who become a member of our wonderful community while the season is on its way, and would like to be part of our competition, already have a disadvantage. They also have the disadvantage of not getting extra points from the end-of-year Top 6. Including extra constructor championship points would make it even more unatractive for them to compete. I hope everyone understands. One more thing, in order to make sure who we are talking about, don't use driver's initials. You can now enter your predictions for round nr. 1, the Australian Grand Prix. It's up to you whenever you want to do this, but remember, registration closes at 24.00 hours, Friday, March 2. (regional times will be taken into account). Here are my predictions: 1. Michael Schumacher 2. David Coulthard 3. Ralf Schumacher 4. Mika Hakkinen 5. Juan Pablo Montoya 6. Jean Alesi |

Michael Schumacher (TGF)
Rubens Barrichello Jean Alesi Juan Pablo Montoya Olivier Panis Jarno Trulli I don't believe either of the McLarens will finish. And if Jean Alesi comes in the top 3 I will win about $2,000. ALLEZ ALESI! |

I think this will be a very attrition filled race, and the BARs, Williams and I think Ferraris were the only ones that seemed to be able to stay in one piece so...
1. Michael Schumacher 2. Rubens Barichello 3. Jacques Villeneuve 4. Ralf Schumacher 5. Olivier Panis 6. Juan Montoya (which would be amazing) |

I know I said it in the 'End of Year' thread; that DC would fall off and not be seen again... and it looks like I have some agreement!
Here we go then... 1. Michael Schumacher 2. Rubens Barrichello 3. Heinz-Harald Frentzen 4. Jean Alesi 5. Ralf Schumacher 6. Jacques Villeneuve I'm expecting a combination of ridiculously quick, 'catch 'em on the hop' Williams, Jordan and Prost chassis, and a terrible case of 'Silver Arrow Debut Failure' - both of which could be permenant! Good luck to all, but only if you've chosen the same as me! |

G'Day Allan
Jonesy,
Haven't you been the strong silent type? Welcome back from the dark side of the moon. The wife's twins getting to you? If you want to wave the chequered for JPM, can I suggest you stand at the end of the pit lane and wave furiously when he comes out of the pits after his stop. It's the only way that boy will see the flag waved at him all year, so you mine as well get it over with. Moffat. |

1. TGF
2. Coulthard 3. Frentzen 4. Barrichello 5. Ralf 6. Trulli I can't see both Macs reaching the finishing line so I tossed a coin and Hakk went out. I'm also predicting a serious case of BAR not knowing what they're doing, and JPM taking a race or two to find his feet, as seems to be the minimum that ex-Champ racers need. The fly in the ointment to this may be the Prosts, which would be a bit of a turn-up. Do I get any extra points for predicting that neither Minardi qualifies (unfortunately)? I find it strange the number of people who have either HHF or Trulli in their six for the race versus the virtual non-existence of Jordan in the year end predictions. |

Deep breath & fingers crossed:
1.Mika Hakkinen (never underestimate) 2.Michael Schumacher (sob) 3.Rubens Barrichello 4.Ralf Schumacher 5.Jarno Trulli 6.Olivier Panis It's wishful thinking for both the McLarens to finish, and lets not even assume the Benettons are gonna make the grid. |

I have the same thoughts as many of you about the McLarens - they might keep up their tradition of the past couple of seasons and break down.
1. TGF 2. Barrichello 3. Ralf 4. JV 5. Panis 6. Frentzen |
