Dale Jr....
Although without a win so far in 2013, Dale Jr's early season consistency sees him as the points leader after Fontana.
Is that going to be the secret this year? |

He's yet to demonstrate any form when things accelerate during The Chase. So, I would say, no. I do see him win one or two races this year and he deserves credit for uplifting himself after a couple of years in the doldrums.

It's a little hard to shine in "the Chase" when head trauma forces you to skip two of the ten races.

It does appear that he and the team have finally figured out how to make the right adjustments during the race. More often that not this year he has been moving forward at the end of races. Having said that to really have a chance at the championship you have to be able to win or finish at least top 3 consistently at the end of the season. Only time will tell if that can happen for him.

He has certainly got the consistency thing worked out at Hendricks these days...

I can see him winning a race or two in the 'regular' season. When the chase starts it's anybody can win it, it's performing well over those races and avoiding DNF's, something which he's become good at at Hendrick in the last year. So yes, why not Dale Jr for the championship? He's in with a shot IMO.
