What's best for German GP

With regards to Bernie requesting Hockenheim to have a major change, by shortening the circuit before it could hold a GP in 2002, its a stupid decision in my view.

Hockenheim is one of the last fastest GPs which request the high speeds of a true F1 machine, why destroy the circuit and the high speeds by shortening it and removing the long straights?

If what they want is a shorter track with more spectator capacity, go to Lausitzring instead, and leave Hockenheim alone...this is a case of commercial benefits spoiling the essence of F1.

There is a map of the new layout in Autosport, and, although it is more interesting than modern circuits such as Indy or Sepang, the old circuit should never be removed. Hockenheim is unique and must remain part of the F1 calendar.

Just like the old Nurburgring. When the race went to the short Mickey Mouse circuit at Hockenhiem in '70 there was an outcry. unfortunately no circuit seems to have a right to be on the callander. I worry about Monza.

IMO Hockenheim circuit is one of the few left where overtaking is possible. Another one I can think of is Sepang and maybe a little bit dangerously, Monza.

So we can expect a more "boring" German GP in the future huh?

That seems what Bernie wants! Another boring GP. That's why he tortured us by building Budapest's track! lol
Don't take this too serious...
But to be honest I don't think that leaving Hockenheim like it is will give us endless satisfaction by hundreds of overtakings...I remember very boring 300 km/h-processions!
Think instead of great battles at Buenos Aires in 1998! The specific race-conditions on the racing-day have more influence on a great race than the track-design...anyway Hockenheim's a part of history. So don't touch it!
