Why HHF was sacked
Quite simply for lack of motivation ! But I believe he will fight back with Prost as he's probably quite angry at EJ... so it might be fun to see HHF in front of a Jordan....

It doesnt matter that EJ sacked HHF its the fact that he bought Zonta to take his plac, he's no-where near as good as HHF

Zonta was just a temporary replacement - I doubt Eddie Jordan ever planned on making him a regular driver. There have been rumours since at least 1996 that Jordan wanted Alesi to drive for him.

Heinz and Eddie disagreed over where the teams' lack of speed was coming from - Eddie says drivers, Heinz says it's the car and the team...
Seems like Eddie has had Alesi lined up since 1989!! |

I think it was Speedvision that said something like Jordan got rid of HHF to get the Mugen Honda engines. Some driver (Japenese?) has a contract with Honda, so Jordan has a better chance of getting him too if there is an open seat.
If that makes any sense. |

The reason that HHF was sacked will probably not be known for many years. The Takuma Sato theory has been floated, but this fact remains: Eddie Jordan is a bright racing person. He runs his team rather logically. So, what's the logic in sacking your team's greatest driver a few days before his home grand prix? If you wanted to bring about Sato, then wait until season's end and THEN find a spot.
I think something incredibly dirty went down. We won't find out what that was for a very long time. |

Who knows..
What makes it so mind boggling is the timing: A few days before his home GP, in the middle of the season. If he was going to do a driver swap, why now? I am now a former Jordan fan, and would like nothing more than to see Frentzen put one over on his former team. Unfortunately, I doubt this will happen with Prost... Jean Alesi is one that I feel has never had the chance to show his true potential, and I doubt that will happen now that he is at Jordan. All this has made me, is a bigger BAR fan. |

I heard that it was something to do with his monaco crash. He has been very lacklustre in races since. eg silverstone

It's like one of those made-for-TV movie scripts!!
We'll probably have to wait for Eddie's rags to riches best selling autobiography... |
