Sadly I won't be there but hopefully the car will be ready for July.

Good luck everybody.

We're there too ! - Classic Clubmans - in what Liz & Tim decribed as my "wild Haggispeed" probably No22 although that has to change soon - got to pick a new number, any suggestions ? (might go for 27 since the car is finished in Ford Ferrari Red)
Aha - so I've got your number now Jos - will definately try to find you this week, we're last practise / race so won't be arriving till late morning. I don't see the TinTin mobile in the entry list, any others there ? - what about Slowcoach ?
Hey Hobson - better make that banner pretty big - tend to have other things to look at when I arrive at the mountain - like the road !

Well folks - I don't normally do this - but having snapped a driveshaft at Brands Hatch on Sunday after 3 laps (particularly frustrating as I had qualified 3rd on the grid !) I am not going to make it to Cadwell but have another trip to the garage looming instead - I have 5 tickets for the Cadwell Classic - all give access to Pits and Paddock - any bids please ?????? All proceeds going to the 'repair the Rover intime for Brands fund !!'

Hey Slowcoach - sorry to hear you won't be there, what were you doing at Brands anyway ? was that CSCC championship ?
If you call or mail Claire Nixon at BARC you can still withdraw your entry and get a % of the entry fee back or have it held over to the next meeting.
See you at Brands I hope

Hi Tony - yes thanks - I spoke with Claire yesterday and she was most helpful so some relief there.
I was at the AMOC meeting - they had 2 Sports vs Saloons challenge races , one each day and as its not too far I thought the practice would be good with 'our' meeting not so far away . However , usual catalogue of disasters followed me round , two trailer punctures , one brand new slick punctured and ruined and two good wets mangled plus broken belts breaking igniton wires and to top it all on the 3rd lap of the Sunday race a driveshaft snapped which put me into a full 360 spin at Clearways - what a weekend! .....however bright spot was car in one piece and feeling rather satified with a 3rd on the grid and only 2/10's of a second behind pole man Alec Hammond in his Camaro who also races in my Championship. Can't wait until the 20th - hope to catch up with you then !

Jos, I have questions.
1. Who are Andrew Cardew Ltd?
2. How long have you been racing in CSCC?
3. What happened at the barn?
4. Are you going to keep that twig as a momentoof it?

Hi Jos et al
Sorry didn't get to find you, don't know what it is at race meetings - always seems so much to do - saw the TinTin mobile going off to practise in the morning that was about it. Hope you enjoyed the racing Hobson - didn't spot the banner but I was kinda busy in my race, I'm still aching.
Brands next up

Sorry Tony, I left after the Classic Thunder race, because I got a bad case of sunburn (I know! 'Sunburn at Cadwell'? Impossible! )
Where did you finish?

My dad wants me to get into classic racing, sharing a car. A Volvo 340 (1981).

Finished 10th overall, 6th in class. and had a really good race with about 4 other cars, boy it was really hard work, my arms still ache !. I'm very pleased with that result, Cadwell has never been a circuit I've really liked but now it has to be one of my favourites, just wish they'd make that start line wider - there's just nowhere to go.
"Sunburn at Csdwell I know what you mean - amazing weather wasn't it.
How did you do Jos ?

Not sure when Jos will get to reply, but I can answer some of those
questions for you:

Jos lost the Golf exiting Barn, hit the NSF onto the barrier which sent the car back onto the track where it spun 180 deg and went up the embankment on the other side before smacking into a tree!

Jos was okay but had a stiff neck, the Golf however looks like requiring a reshell.

It was Jos' 2nd race with the CSCC although he has done some racing previously (was at Spa 2000 with us in a Volvo Amazon)

My sincere thanks to whichever spectator kindly gave me his keyfob ring to enable me to fix my borken throttle linkage during qualifying :-)

1. Who are Andrew Cardew Ltd? Alexander Cardew Ltd is my employer and possibly Britains oldest established specialist pipeline equipment supplier - founded by Alexander in 1934

2. How long have you been racing in CSCC? see above
3. What happened at the barn? see above

4. Are you going to keep that twig as a momento of it? I gave it to my wife to soften her up for the write off and replacement news

So I've just bought a 1982 Scirocco (1900 cc / plastic panels & slicks) which should enable me to get out for Classic Thunder at Brands whilst we think about down-speccing it back to Group 1

Thanks to everyone who asked after me and I think I might write to the RAC about exposed trees
