Changes to IRL Indycar forum staff structure
This is a brief note to let you know of a few changes that we have decided to make to the way the ChampCar and Indycar forums are run here on 10 Tenths. To explain our reasoning I will tell you a little history of what has led us to make the changes. Here goes...
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there was a racing series. One day along came a man nam.... ooops, you know that bit. Anyway, I was saying, originally we had one single forum to discuss American open wheel racing. This forum was name Indy Racing Forum. After a period of time the forum expanded to such a point that it was necessary to split it into two specific forums - what we have now - the ChampCar World Series forum and the Indycar forum. However even this was not without its problems with users leaving their 'own' forum to snipe at fans of the other series. This is a situation that we are not happy with as moderators as our job is to make your life better whilst on the forums. For some time now we have been encouraging the moderators of the two forums to work closer together to stamp out any needless sniping and there has been a noteable improvement in the atmosphere of both forums. With this in mind we have becided to take the next step and, from now on, both forums will remain as independant entities on the site but will be run by the same group of people. The benefit of having the same group of people running both forums is that it will make it so much easier to apply a level of consistency which is very hard to maintain when forums are operated by two parties. I trust that you will all understand the reasoning for this decision and take it easy whilst we all find our feet with the new arrangements. To make it easier for you the new team have put together a brief note of what is expected: All discussions must remain in their relevant forum. Indycar is to be discussed on the ChampCar forum ONLY if and when the subject has direct relevance to ChampCars. And vice-versa. Constructive criticism is welcomed. Hey... Not all's perfect, and there will always be negative things about either series which are worthy of discussion. But no "bashing", either of a series, its drivers, or its staff. All general forum behaviour rules must be followed. This one is obvious. Never forget that this is a family forum, to be perused by all ages. No deliberate dodging of the auto-censor, (unless you're trying to type in Hiro's last name), and certainly NO personal attacks of any kind. Likewise flame-baiting or trolling will not be tolerated. For more info feel free to follow this link... http://tentenths.com/forum/misc.php?...ge=1#behaviour This is a motorsport discussion board. If you wish to discuss politics or nationalities, use your favourite search engine and find the proper forum. Got a gripe with the moderators? That's cool. That's your right. But bring it up, either via PM or in the "Announcements and Feedback" forum, not here. Have fun! But this one's up to you. |

One more change - paul-collins will be transferring over to Sportscars/GT with immediate effect. I'm sure that the other staff on the CART/IRL forums will like to join me in thanking him for his efforts here.
