CSCC Anglesey
Who's doing the Swinging 60's events at Anglesey next month? I'm bringing the 128 out for it's first run of the year and really looking forward to it.

Take a look @ www.brsccnw.com for more photo's. It is better ythan it looks it has everything on it. long straights fast & slow corners and hills up and down plus depending on what circuit there is a bit like Lauguna sega corkscrew. It is a real drives circuit. I can't wait till I drive i next Thursday as long as they have cleaned it up form last weekend when I was there.

I would just like to say a huge thanks to CSCC and everyone at Anglesey over the weekend that came up and chatted to us. Racing wise it was a disaster as new bits of rust I didn't know existed made themselves known and we terminally lost a front corner during our 3rd qualifying session. Judging by what I was hearing we weren't the only ones with chassis problems though!! The circuit is fantastic, fast corners, long straights ,hills and hard braking. Everyone should put it on the list of 'to do' circuits. The atmosphere was great on Fri and Sat anyway (we left a day early) and we found everyone, from the noise Scrut (thanks, we will make it quiter...promise) , the marshal up at Rocket that came up to us after racing on Sat, the various 10 Tenthers,CSCC folks and complete strangers with welding equipment, that made themselves known to us, all were friendly, willing to help and enthusiastic. Despite us not actually getting a race we had a ball of a time. Club racing is alive and well !!!

I have to say that I regret not taking my Lancia now - the circuits are wonderful and I would recommend any Club to go there for a weekend. The views of sea, mountains and beaches are also lovely and those not racing had a nice time driving round the island being tourists!
Our hotel was brilliant, good food and friendly staff. The circuit staff, marshals and BRSCC and Timekeepers were also wonderfully efficient and good-humoured and I would like to thank all of you, on the hills, in the pits, gridding up, startline, rescue who made it such a great weekend. But I have to go back to those circuits - the coastal circuit is SENSATIONAL! Richard Peacock and his time can be very proud. Thanks to one and all |

Many thanks to Sarah and all the CSCC organising team for once again putting on a great weekends racing. The new circuits are indeed great fun, well done to all involved in that
As always thanks must go to the marshalls for standing out in the wind (luckily no rain until late on Sunday). Despite being at the tail end (the very end of the tail) in both Swinging Sixties races I had a fantastic weekend. See you all at Mallory. |

Let me guess Moosehead it was a Mustang?
Thanks CSCC it was a fantastic weekend and although i only raced on the Saturday it has confirmed to me that this format of racing is the way forward. Not sure of the pitstops though having had this chat with a few drivers if you are wearing a full face lid you cant see your harnesses to do them back up, im also not convinced that doing your harnesses up in a hurry is such a good idea. But i digress the new Anglesey track is great fun especially in a car like mine (Spitfire) just gotta get round to filling out my regestration form |

considering you were at the back on the saturday you were really throwing it through rocket and same can be said on sunday on the corkscrew, cant be an easy car to handle through some of the trickier bits!

Ha, I was at the back both days - consistantly last, thats me
I used to hillclimb & sprint the car so tight corners and narrow tracks are nothing new.......just need to get faster now |

a provisional date in July, originally the 21/22, but it now doesn't show a second Anglesey meeting. |

Andy you cant play with the CSCC that day were at Cadwell !
All joking aside the circuit at Anglesey was awesome and i would go back there again without a shadow of a doubt. My only regret is that i didint race on the coastal circuit on Sunday due to a lack of funds I also enjoyed my battle with the Fulvia in Saturdays race unfortunatley just couldnt make an overtaking move stick he beat me by 3 hundredths of a second in the end |

Fulvia#69
Gentlemen, I was that Fulvia! Or at least one of the drivers, second on Saturday, and first on Sunday. Fantastic battles each day and really great fun, thanks to all involved. A long drive from Dorset we can tell you but well worth it. A great circuit and freindly people to boot! Look forward to racing there again, and now to Mallory.
Gentlemen let battle recommence, well after a pie and a cuppa anyway!!!! |
