FIA WEC 6 Hours of Fuji
Round 2 of the 2019/2020 FIA WEC is up this weekend at Fuji in Japan.
Imo, this track always provides good racing and that's partially because of the variable weather conditions that seem to affect this round more often than not. Seems the success handicap has hit the #7 hard.

I agree. I think the #7 will be 2nd at best, unless they really turn it up. But I feel the #8 will win with it's lesser success penalties. What's interesting is that the Ginetta's again, are 30-40kmh faster than Toyota. 325kmh in fp2 from the #5. They're even 10-15kmh up on the Rebellion.

Great news, I read on a few sites that 2020 actually is coming earlier this year!
Lack of consistency led to the qualifying results today. Race feels over once the sprinklers come on though. |

The Ginetta could have qualified 2nd place but for the spin. They had to change an engine after FP3 as well. They said that led to electrical problems that led to the spin such as power steering and traction control. Not sure what was up with the Rebellion. There isn't any success penalties on it afaik.

The timing of the race is bad for me, I tend to be in bed at 04:00 am (*)
Since probably I won't be able to watch it anyway (no stream?), I'm going to give this a miss. Toyota's will probably finish 1-2 anyhow with the others laps behind, and wonder why that happened -- just like they have no idea how they 'lucked in' on a front row start eralier today. -- (*) I find it far more easy to stay awake until 4 or 5 am than getting to bed early and getting up around 4 am. Is that just me? Last edited by gert; 5 Oct 2019 at 21:25. |

Ginetta's having tire troubles. They need to get on top of that
edit- more like brake problems which result in tire problems! Last edited by TF110; 6 Oct 2019 at 06:08. |

Race over. One lap pace is not enough to defeat Toyota...
Jumbo car looks good this season. Hell, it was the fastest car on track at times during the rain, faster than all LMP1s! |

Really, really boring race at the top. Bruno Senna's first 20-min stint was the race redemption.

Yet another Toyota win, it seems that penalties aren't enough to stop them thankfully

And once again we have someone being kicked out of the results after a technical infringement found in post-race scrutineering.
So ACO... |

Strange watching Toyota celebrating like they had beaten another Hybrid competitor! Oh yes of course their other car, silly me! Boring!
Just heard #38 Jota car that came 2nd in LMP2 has been excluded in post race scrutineering because the 'Marshals Neutral button' had stopped working! That should just be a fine, it hardly contributed to performance! What a Joke...Im not bothering sit up all night to watch this series anymore! That's the last time for me! |

Wouldn't be an ACO event without a good old fashioned DQ lol.

That said, if the rules have allowances for X safety equipment being fines and Y safety equipment being exclusion then you may have a complaint. But I'm guessing safety equipment means exclusion, full stop, no appeal no debate. A neutral switch for the marshalls seems to be a minor thing but I'm guessing when a car is stuck in gear and they can't move it, it becomes a bigger deal. |

Okay ...... Gonna be a bit against the general feeling here ..... BUT ....... please tell me how this six hour endurance 'race' was better than the fare that SRO have shown this year?????
For all Ratel's faults he does run a 'show' and, for me, he gets it right more often the not. Enjoyed Spa, Paul Ricard and Monza way more than this excuse for a race! Come on ACO ...... sort it out! |
